Juniper takes on multiple disposals
Jun 11
Lloyds Banking Group and Stansted Airport Ltd have both turned to Juniper to help reduce the vacancy rates on their occupational property portfolios. At Stansted, Juniper is marketing a variety of office suites in Enterprise House, adjacent to the main Terminal Building, from 200 sq ft up to 10,000 sq ft. On the north side of the airport, a range of commercial building and land options are available, aimed at airport related users. Juniper's strong connections with CB Richard Ellis, who handle UK property transactions for Lloyds Bank, paved the way for it to take on 4 office disposals in Cambridge ranging in size from 2,500 sq ft to 8,450 sq ft and one property in Bishop's Stortford.Commenting on the instructions, Mike points out that "both appointments highlight the value that Juniper, as a niche practice, can add to the experience of an in house property team in the case of Stansted and as an additional resource for a major London surveyor to draw upon in servicing their key client accounts".

Cambridge lab supply dries up
Mar 11
Acting for Sanofi-Aventis, Juniper has assigned the lease on the 29,700 sq ft laboratory at Peterhouse Technology Park to ARM Ltd, whose UK HQ is on the Park. "Despite interest from pharma companies, ARM’s continuing growth meant this was an ideal opportunity for them to expand on the Park and effectively create the ARM campus” commented Mike Ayton on the transaction, adding “with Dr Reddy's and Domainex taking more labs on the Science Park, there is now very little bespoke lab space available in Cambridge." ARM intends to convert the building to full office use and Juniper is now appointed by ARM to sell off the valuable lab equipment – fume cupboards, safety cabinets and extensive benching.

Juniper Real Estate has recently finalised the successful acquisition of a new site for St Colette's Prep School. Working on behalf of Piscari (www.piscari.com) the school's owners, Juniper sourced and secured a former local authority school and adjacent playing fields, in the village of Girton on the edge of the city. St Colette's was founded in 1920 and had outgrown its existing site in central Cambridge. The school will complete the move in April 2009 with over 30,000 sq ft at the new premises, it will allow the continued growth of pupil numbers as well as providing space for the teaching of children with specific learning needs.
Robert Hancock, CEO of Piscari comments "As the most academically successful pre-prep school in Cambridge, St Colette’s eventually became hamstrung by its small, central site. This move to Girton is very exciting and will allow significant expansion of the teaching facilities as well as bringing valuable outside games and recreation space. Juniper Real Estate have been invaluable in identifying and acquiring the new site and their local knowledge ensured a smooth transaction"
